Three people were found dead around 6:30 Wednesday morning, April 11th, in the North Cove section of McDowell County in an apparent murder-suicide. The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office identified the deceased as 39-year-old Kacey Case Haney, 49-year-old Christopher Scott Childres, and 48-year-old Jeffrey Dale Haney. Authorities said Jeffrey Haney is the estranged husband of Kacey Haney. McDowell County Sheriff Dudley Greene said it appears Jeffrey shot and killed Kacey Haney and Childres inside the home at 182 Lonon Lane in Marion, then went outside, called 911 and shot himself. The investigation is ongoing.
