At the regular Yancey County Board of Education Meeting for May, the Board took action to reassign Andrea Allen, current principal of Bee Log Elementary School, to Bald Creek Elementary School as principal for the 2018-19 school year. Sherry Robinson, current principal of Bald Creek Elementary School, will be reassigned to Burnsville Elementary School as principal. Burnsville Elementary’s current principal Dr. Barbara Tipton, will retire at the end to of this school year. The principal position at Clearmont Elementary School is currently filled by interim principal Marshay Huskins. The person filling the Clearmont principal’s position for the 2018-19 school year will be announced at a later date.
