Stolen Vehicle in Yancey County Leads to Meth Arrest

A joint investigation by the North Carolina Highway Patrol, Mitchell, and Yancey Counties Sheriff Office Deputies into a vehicle stolen from Mitchell County resulted in the discovery of Methamphetamine and a total of three arrests in Yancey County.

The arrest took place on Wednesday, November 14th, 2018 on Highway 197 North in Yancey County. The vehicle was stolen in Mitchell County that morning and was being investigated by the Mitchell County Sheriff Office.  Charged in Yancey and Mitchell County is Chad Julius Clark 38, of Spruce Pine, NC. Charged in Yancey County only are Mandolyn Denise Stevens 40, of Rosman, NC and Seth Nathaniel Queen 37, of Rosman, NC.

Chad Julius Clark is charged in Yancey County with Felony Possession of Schedule II (Methamphetamine) a Controlled Substance; Felony Possession with intent Manufacture, Sell, and Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Substance; Felony Possession of Stolen Goods/Property; Misdemeanor Possession Drug Paraphernalia. Clark is in the custody of the Yancey County Sheriff Office Detention Center.  Clark received a Yancey County Bond of $40,000.00 and awaiting his Yancey District Court appearance on November 21, 2018. Clark is being held with NO BOND until his Parole Hearing on a Mitchell County Parole Violation.

Clark is also charged in Mitchell County with Felony Parole Violation, Misdemeanor Interfering with an Electronic Monitoring Device; Felony Larceny of a Motor Vehicle; Misdemeanor Larceny; and Misdemeanor Injury to Personal Property.  Clark’s Mitchell County Bond is $25,000.00 and awaiting his Mitchell District Court appearance on November 20, 2018. Clark is being held in Yancey County with NO BOND until his Parole Hearing on the Mitchell County Parole Violation.

Mandolyn Denise Stevens is charged in Yancey County with Felony Possession of Schedule II (Methamphetamine) a Controlled Substance; Felony Possession with intent Manufacture, Sell, and Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Substance; Misdemeanor Simple Possession of Schedule III (Subutex) a Controlled Substance; Misdemeanor Possession Drug Paraphernalia. Stevens is in the custody of the Yancey County Sheriff Office Detention Center.  She received a Yancey County Bond of $25,000.00 and is awaiting her Yancey District Court appearance on November 21, 2018.

Seth Nathaniel Queen is charged in Yancey County with Felony Possession of Schedule II (Methamphetamine) a Controlled Substance; Felony Possession with intent Manufacture, Sell, and Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Substance; Felony Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance on Prison/Jail Premises; Misdemeanor Simple Possession of Schedule VI (Marijuana) a Controlled Substance; Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia; Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Queen is in the custody of the Yancey County Sheriff Office Detention Center. Queen received a Yancey County Bond of $40,000.00 and is awaiting his Yancey District Court appearance on November 21, 2018.
