Detectives with the Yancey County Sheriff Office have arrested a Yancey County registered Sex Offender. Deputies arrested Brandon Bailey, age 53, of the Green Mountain area on Friday, January 4th. He is being held under a $1,000,000 bond. Deputies were alerted to these new offences by the Victim, this then set the investigation into motion culminating in the arrest Friday.
Brandon Wayne Bailey is in custody at the Yancey County Detention Center and charged with two Felonies, one count each of Indecent Liberties with a Child and First Degree Statutory Sexual Offense. Bailey will remain under the $1,000,000 bond while awaiting his first District Court appearance on January 14th, 2019.
“Our Office is dedicated to the protection and Safety of our Children. We will continue to investigate and pursue prosecution of any sexual offender, drug offender, or abuser that endangers a Child” said Chief Deputy Shane Hilliard.
