Virginia G. Miller, age 71, of Hamburg Road in Bakersville, the Bear Creek community, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Mitchell House in Spruce Pine.
Born on December 4, 1947 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late John Jay and Ethel Burleson McMahan. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Charlene Presnell Thomas.
Virginia was a member of the Liberty Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed her church and church family. She was a graduate of Mars Hill College and retired from the Unimin Corporation with thirty-five years service. Following her retirement, she enjoyed traveling. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband of twenty-seven years; Roger Miller of Bakersville; her daughter; Jeannie Rathburn and husband, Wayne of Pensacola; her son; Brain Presnell and wife, Nikki of Newdale; her step children; Jennifer DiRisco and husband, Vincent of Gray, TN and Rodney Eugene Miller and wife, Michelle of Marion; her sisters; Sharon Hoppes and Phyllis McMahan both of Conover, NC; her grandchildren; Allison, Blake, Chrissie, Haley, Colby, Corey, Derrick, and Jenna; her step grandchildren; Ariel, Skylar, Trey, and Taylor; and her great grandchildren; Asher and Everett.
The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of Virginia Miller on Friday, January 18, 2019 at 3:00 pm at the Liberty Hill Baptist Church with the Rev’s. Clay Dale and G E Freeman officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Thursday, January 17, 2019 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Webb Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church.
