McDowell County Sheriff’s Office Press Release
Deputy Aaron Vallini of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Michael William Cook, 44, address listed as Valdese, with possession of methamphetamine. Cook was also served with outstanding warrants from Burke County. Shortly after 3 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1, Vallini stopped a vehicle on Sugar Hill Road for traffic violations. He found Cook driving and learned that he was wanted in Burke. A subsequent search of the vehicle by authorities and K-9 Marsoc of Marion Police Department yielded .20 gram of methamphetamine.
