The body of a missing Madison County man was found Wednesday afternoon. 35 year old Ryan McClure, of Weaverville, was fishing several miles upriver from downtown Marshall when he was reported missing Sunday evening.
McClure was a Navy veteran, postman in Swannanoa, and avid fisherman. When he had not been heard from, his stepfather went down to where he had been fishing and found McClure’s chair, wallet, keys and car near the river Monday morning.
Emergency responders used multiple drones, helicopters and boats, and walked the river trying to find McClure. McClure leaves behind a 6-year-old son.
