Janis Pittman Griffith, age 76, of Wildwood Lane in Spruce Pine, died Monday, July 1, 2019 at her home.
Born on December 26, 1942 in Avery County, she was the daughter of the late Vernon and Faye McKinney Pittman.
Janis was a member of the Henson Creek Baptist Church and a graduate of Blanton’s Business College in Asheville. She was retired from Baxter’s Healthcare with twenty years of service. She was known as a people person, she had a great sense of humor and loved making people laugh. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memories are her son; Ricky Griffith and wife, Missy of Spruce Pine; her brothers; Harold Pittman and wife, Ann; Sherrill Pittman and wife, Lana; and Durl Pittman and wife, Sherry all of Newland; Phil Pittman and wife, Patricia of Spruce Pine; and her sister; Gerri McClellan and husband, Kenneth of Spruce Pine; her grandsons; Eric and Brent Griffith both of Spruce Pine; her nephew; Stephen McClellan and her niece; April Pittman.
The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service for Janis Griffith on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in the Pittman Cemetery on Henson Creek Road.
The family would like to extend a special ‘Thank You’ to the staff of Hospice and Palliative Care of the Blue Ridge for their wonderful care of Janis.
