High Pastures To Expand

High Pastures Christian Retreat and Conference Center will expand its bed capacity from 160 to 300. The 732 acre facility at the end of Georges Fork Road in Burnsville is undergoing some changes including a change in leadership with the retirement of longtime director Claude Vess and assistant director Gerald Ball. The retreat will now be associated with Look Up Lodge based in Travelers Rest, SC. Phillip and Bekah Howard will assume leadership at High Pastures. They will continue the traditional retreats year round and will add youth summer programs with an emphasis on  leadership development. High Pastures will retain its mission set forth in 1958 by founder Betty Motsinger as a place to fellowship and grow in the Lord. The interdenominational retreat is ideal for individuals or groups to enjoy nature along with cookouts, volleyball and other activities. Meal service is available for groups of 20 or more with cooking facilities provided for smaller groups. For more information go to highpastures.org.
