On Friday, December 20th, 2019 a traffic stop by Yancey County Deputies resulted in the seizure of 50 grams of Methamphetamine and 28 grams of Marijuana, and a stolen Firearm from Bristol, Tennessee.
Whitney Nicole Drake, 32 of Bristol, TN and Sara Marie Stephenson, 32 also of Bristol, TN were arrested and the two are charged with 2 counts of Trafficking in Methamphetamine, 1 count Conspiracy to Traffic in Methamphetamine, and 13 additional Felonies, 5 Misdemeanors, and 1 Traffic charge.
Drake is charged with 2 Counts Of Felony Trafficking In Methamphetamine, Felony Possess Schedule II (Methamphetamine) Controlled Substance, Felony Possession With Intent To Manufacture, Sell, And Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance, Felony Possession With Intent To Manufacture, Sell, And Deliver Schedule IV Controlled Substance, Felony Maintain A Place For Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor Possession Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor Simple Possession Of Schedule VI Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor Possession Of Marijuana Paraphernalia, Felony Failure To Appear On Charges For Watauga County, Felony Failure To Appear On Charges For Avery County, and Extradition/Fugitive Other State (Tennessee).
Stephenson is charged with Felony Conspiracy To Traffic Methamphetamine, Felony Possession Of Schedule II (Methamphetamine) Controlled Substance, Felony Possession With Intent Manufacture, Sell, And Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance, Felony Maintaining A Place For Controlled Substance, Felony Possession Of Firearm By Convicted Felon, Felony Possession Of A Stolen Firearm, Felony Identity Theft, Misdemeanor Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Misdemeanor Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, and Giving Fictitious/False Information To An Officer.
Drake is being held on a $980,000.00 bond for North Carolina and no bond for Tennessee and Stephenson is being held under a $200,000.00 in the Yancey County Detention Center awaiting their next Court appearance in Yancey County District Court on January 23rd, 2020.
