Frances Nelle Hobson Willis, age 77, of Penland, died Sunday, March 15, 2020 at Burke Hospice and Palliative Care in Valdese.
Born on July 2, 1942 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Kate Burleson Hobson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Willis who passed away in 2017. She was also preceded in death by her sisters; Sandy Greene, Carolyn Hobson, Millie Ann Smith, and Vivian Peterson.
Left to cherish her memories are her son; David H. Willis of Union Mills, NC; her brothers; Cecil Hobson and wife, Mary of Red Hill and Doug Hobson and wife, Mary Ellen of Fork Mountain; special friend, Kristen Payne; several nieces and nephews.
Frances served twenty-five years as the Postmaster at the Post Office in Penland. She loved her family and particularly her son, David. She loved cooking, and being outside working in her flower garden. In her spare time she enjoyed reading.
