New Mitchell County Manager

On Thursday March 19th Mitchell County Commissioners picked Timothy Greene as the new county manager.

On December 10th last year, in a special meeting, the board unanimously approved former County Manager and current mayor of Bakersville Charles “Chuck” Vines as the Interim County Manager. At that time commissioner Danny Burleson had been serving as acting County Manager since December 2nd when the board voted to replace Kathy Young.

Timothy Greene is a Mitchell County resident with a degree in business administration from Mars Hill University.  In the past he served as County Manager in Avery County and as vice president of administrative services at Mayland Community College. Recently he was the finance officer in Avery County.

Greene’s contract with the county is for 3 years with an annual salary of $87,000.
