Mitchell County School’s Message to Parents & Students

Parents and Students…This is a reminder that if you have not checked in with your teachers and are not completing assignments, you need to do so as soon as possible. North Carolina Department of Public Instruction has approved these days as remote learning days. The only students exempt are seniors that were passing their high school classes at the end of the 3rd 9 weeks. All students, including seniors, who are enrolled in AP, Mayland, or college courses must finish the classes remotely.

We will not have a full week of Spring Break as previously scheduled for April 10-19. We will observe Good Friday and Easter Monday. Our feeding program and remote instruction will not take place on these days, but will resume as usual on Tuesday, April 14.

We really want our students and community to stay healthy. Please observe the CDC guidelines and order issued by our governor. We know if is hard for students not to see and socialize with each other, but we need to be mindful of those with weakened immune systems and the elderly in our community. The better job we do following the orders to stay at home and social distancing, the quicker we can return to our normal schedules.

We miss you all and hope you will contact us or your teachers if you have any questions!
