Scott’s Strawberry Farms Closes Due to Positive Coronavirus

Thirty-eight of Scott’s Strawberry & Tomato Farms’ employees have tested positive for COVID-19 the company announced Monday. Scott’s Strawberry & Tomato Farms is located in Unicoi, TN. Many people in this area travel there to buy strawberries. Those who tested positive are isolated for at least 10 days and contacts will be quarantined for 14 days, according to CDC guidelines. The company is temporarily closing operations for deep cleaning and sanitization. Scott’s Strawberry & Tomato Farms’ President Steve Scott said in a statement, “We are working closely with the Northeast Regional Health Office to manage the impact of this illness on our team members, their families and our communities.” Food City has discontinued deliveries of Scott’s strawberries for the remainder of the season.
