Free Reusable Face Coverings for Some Organizations

In response to the COVID-19 global pandemic, the federal government launched “Project America Strong” to distribute reusable cotton face coverings in support of critical infrastructure areas across the country. The face coverings provided by FEMA are 100% cotton and contain silver and copper, which help prevent the growth of viruses and germs. Through this program, nonprofit organizations can obtain reusable face coverings, free of charge.
United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County applied for and has received 125,000 face coverings through this program and is working with regional partners to distribute them equitably. If you represent a nonprofit or grassroots organization in your community and need face coverings, please complete the form below. Per FEMA guidelines, the masks are to be used for staff and volunteers (infrastructure support); however, we are not requiring documentation of their use.
We are collecting all orders via this form and will fulfill orders based on the region’s requests.  Requests must be submitted by Friday 6/12 at noon.
To be as effective and efficient as possible in distributing this personal protective gear, we are instituting minimum and maximum orders. If your organization cannot fulfill the minimum order, please connect with a fellow organization to combine your orders and submit under one request.
Distribution partners will be identified in each county. Nonprofits and grassroots organizations will be responsible for picking up their orders from these partners.
