Fund Local Christian Drug Alcohol Inpatient Rehab

A GoFundMe page has been set up, in honor of Landon Medina, to help fund a future faith-based inpatient drug and alcohol treatment center in Yancey County. Landon Scott Medina, age 32, passed away July 17th. Landon served his country both proudly and honorably in the United States Air Force. He deployed multiple times to the Middle East in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Growing up, Landon was a local sport legend at Mountain Heritage High School. He was deeply loved by his family, had many friends, and was widely admired in the community. Landon’s compassion and love, moved him to coach and mentor those in need. However, Landon struggled with his demons. His family also grappled desperately with how to help him, wondering if the path they were taking would best support Landon’s recovery. There was no safe place nearby to turn to when Landon needed help the most.   Tragically, Landon passed away in an accident on his 32nd birthday. His surviving family wants to continue his legacy of providing aid to others in need of rehabilitation.  If you would like to help, donations can be made by going  to www.gofundme.com/landon-medina-memorial-fund.
