The Coronavirus – COVID-19 has claimed two additional events scheduled in Mitchell County. Yesterday (07/28/2020) the Mitchell County Historical Society announced on Facebook that the 2020 Apple Butter Festival scheduled for October 17th in Bakersville will not be held. Also last evening the Board of the Buladean Community Foundation voted to cancel their Rolling ‘neath the Roan Car Show scheduled for September 12th. The Carolina Pushrods canceled their Annual Run for the Hills Car show held annually in Poplar a few weeks ago. The post issued by the Historical Society reminds us that many of these events are annual fundraisers for our local non-profits and they will need our help to make it through the Covid-19 Pandemic.
