Joyce Burleson, age 74, of Gouges Creek Road in Spruce Pine, died Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at the Mitchell House in Spruce Pine.
Born on July 16, 1946 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Guy McClellan and Georgia Thomas McClellan. Joyce was a member of the Whites Memorial Baptist Church.
Joyce was a master clothing designer and dress maker. She loved her family and spending time with her grandsons. In her spare she enjoyed making traditional quilts.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband; Richard Burleson of the home; her daughter; Tammie Renfro and husband, Jerry of Green Mountain; her son; Guy Burleson and wife, Lisa of Spruce Pine; her mother; Georgia McClellan and Clarence of Spruce Pine; her grandsons; Heath Renfro and wife, Taylor of Bakersvillle and Hudson Renfro of Green Mountain; and her sisters; Wanda Hoilman and husband, Bob of Spruce Pine; Mary Carpenter and husband, Bobby of Newland and Sally Revis and husband, Roger of Marion.
A time to support the family, share memories, and receive friends will be on Saturday, September 5, 2020 from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home with the Rev’s. Brad Hughes, Roger Griffin, and Jeff Brewer officiating.
