Farlin J. Thomason

Farlin J. Thomason, age 94, of the Pensacola Community, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 7th, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Roswell and Revia Rathbone Allen and the wife of the late Gay Thomason, who passed away in 1977. She was also preceded in death by a infant son, Frank Allen; sisters; Lizzie Allen, Lardell Keener, Worley Reese; brother, Lou Allen Thomason and a special brother-in- law, Glenn Keener.

Farlin was a member of Pensacola Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening but most of all she loved her Savior Jesus Christ and her family.

Surviving are her daughters: Magdalene McMahan and husband, Carroll of Pensacola and Lisa Jones and husband, Lynn of Elk Park; sons: Junior Thomason and wife, Rita of Pensacola, and Clyde Thomason and wife, Reamon of Jacks Creek; grandchildren: Darrel McMahan and wife, Tonya, Robert McMahan and wife, Amelia, Paula Johnson and husband, Teddy, Kandra Ledford and husband, Scott, Brandon Thomason and wife, Brittney, Alan Thomason and wife, Bethany, Cameron Wilson and wife, Brandi and Dustin McMahan and wife, Sarah; great-grandchildren: Hunter Johnson, Paige Johnson, Laken Reed, Hannah McMahan, Levi McMahan, Landrie McMahan, Ella McMahan, Pressley Ledford, Korbin Thomason, Adley Thomason, Mailey Thomason, Weston Thomason and Layla Thomason. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Funeral Services will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9th, in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Rev. Brandon Thomason and Rev. Keith Miller will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 prior to the funeral service. Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 10th in the Vaughn McMahan Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Jerry Wilson, Ronald Fox, John Caldwell, Jacob Fox, Ted Williams and Noah Buchanan.

The family would like to say a special thanks to caregiver Margaret McPeters, and friend Noah Buchanan. Also a thank you to Compassionate Care of Western North Carolina, for their kindness and help.
