Grant Expands Efforts to Reach Children

The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina recently awarded $72,000 in funding to Blue Ridge Partnership For Children.  Blue Ridge Partnership will use the funds to expand the Yancey Alliance for Young Children into Mitchell and Avery Counties. Funding will go toward the First 2000 Days campaign which addresses early childhood brain development and services to mitigate adverse childhood experiences. Parent education classes, access to information and resources are all goals towards getting support for children’s development. With its expansion into Mitchell and Avery counties Blue Ridge Partnership for Children will become the Alliance for Young Children of the Blue Ridge.
