Apparently some Food and Nutrition Services or Food Stamp recipients are receiving text messages on their cell phones stating, “your FNS case is about to close, click on the link to keep it open.” An alternative text may also state “you were chosen to receive food stamps or SNAP.” This is a scam and an attempt to obtain the FNS recipient’s personal information. Recipients should not reply to the text and should delete the text immediately. FNS recipients should never share social security numbers, bank information or EBT card or PIN numbers with individuals or organizations that they do not know.
