There will be an active shooter exercise at the Yancey Medical Center Campus on Tuesday, October 13th from 5-6pm’ish.
The Yancey Co Sheriff Dept and Yancey Co 911 will be involved, but no other county or state agencies are participating. This exercise is primarily for the medical center staff to evaluate their strengths and weaknesses. We have sent out a Hyper-Reach message to folks in the immediate area and have coordinated with neighboring agencies such as the Health Dept, Sr Center, Mayland CC, etc… as well as the Highway Patrol and local Fire Dept’s.
