Patsy Gouge, age 79, of Burnsville, passed away on Friday, November 20th, 2020 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine.
A native of McDowell County, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Missouri McGee Hollifield. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ted William Gouge; sister, Betty Lou Robinson; half sister, Jean Hollifield; granddaughter, Nikki McKinney and great-grandchildren: Carson Gouge and Mariah Gouge.
She was a lifelong member of the Blue Rock Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening and yard sales.
Surviving are daughters: Debbie Branch (Steve), Cynthia McKinney, and Sherry Whittington (Lee); son, Greg Gouge (Mandy) all of Burnsville; grandchildren: Skye, John (Allie), Anna, Holli (Chad), Lynn (Will), Amanda (Brian), Jessie, Robert and Ryan (Brittany); great-grandchildren: Brianna, Brittany, Bethany, Peyton, Piper, Madison, Donovan, Elayna, Sadie, Jase, Sage, and Jalen; great, great-grandchild, Xavier; half sister, ClairAnn Hollified (Ronnie) and lifelong friend Betty McKinney. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. prior to the services. Rev. Kenneth Forbes will officiate. Burial will follow in the Old Blue Rock Cemetery.
