Jack “Bubby” Justice Mace

Jack “Bubby” Justice Mace, age 88 of White Oak Creek community, went home to the Lord Wednesday, November 25th, 2020 at his home.

A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Clay and Callie Waycaster Mace. He was preceded in death by his son, Roger Mace; grandsons, Robert Mace and Loren Westall; and 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Jack served as a Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent at White Oak Chapel of which he was a faithful member. Everyone who knew him, knew he loved his church. He also formerly sang in a quartet.

Surviving are his loving wife of 70 years, Rena Murphy Mace; children: Carol Elliot and husband Johnnie, Mary Lou Wilson and husband Mike, Ronnie Mace and wife Reba, all of the White Oak community, and John Westall of Marion; sister, Amyree Lewis and husband Wiley of Beaufort; 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, private graveside services will be held in the Autrey Cemetery at South Estatoe Baptist Church on Friday, November 27th. Reverend Charles Carroll will officiate.
