Jean Cassford Owensby, age 87, of Burnsville, passed away on Saturday, January 16th, 2021 at Memorial Mission Hospital.
A native of Hingham, Massachusetts, she was a daughter of the late Theordore and Madeline Peck Cassford. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alan Owensby, Sr and a brother, Teddy Cassford.
Jean was a member of the Spruce Pine Order of the East Star. She loved life to the fullest, enjoyed playing bingo and cribbage. and adored her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are her children: Cindy Lominac and husband, Tony, of Spruce Pine and Alan Owensby and wife, Debbie, of Long Island, NY; grandchildren: Holly Newton of Nebo and Whitney and Shane Owensby of Long Island, NY; special grandkids: Savanna Beatty and Maddy Byrd and a great-grandson, Huxton “Big Boy” Beatty and her cat “Miss Kitty”.
No services are planned at this time.
