Alice McClellan Ollis, age 67, of Highland Avenue in Spruce Pine, passed away Friday, January 22, 2021 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine.
Born on September 12, 1953 in Avery County, she was the daughter of the late Vance McClellan and Betty Ollis McClellan who still survives. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Danny Ollis who passed away in 2015.
Alice was a member of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and was a member of the Fortner Insurance Agency family in Spruce Pine with thirty plus years of service. Alice loved animals of all kinds, especially horses. She also loved her family, friends, and lived life to the fullest. She loved the beach and being in the warm sunshine and her dog, Luna. She loved God and her faith is what sustained her through her entire life.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughter; Ashley Ollis of Spruce Pine; her son; Scott Ollis of Greensboro; and her mother; Betty McClellan of Spruce Pine.
The family would like to extend a special ‘Thank You’ to all of the amazing nurses that cared for her over the years and to the community that prayed for her nonstop.
A Memorial service will be planned and announced at a later date.
