Arthur Ray Hollifield, age 82, of Altapass Hwy in Spruce Pine, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at his home.
Born on September 20, 1938, in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late Dallas and Dolly Hollifield. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter; Judith Hollifield.
Arthur was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. He drove truck for many years and loved to fish, and play rummy with family and friends. Arthur loved being outside and taking walks every day.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife; Reba Mae Styles Hollifield of the home; his son; Stevie Hollifield and wife Tina and his daughter; Debbie Riddle and husband Gene all of Spruce Pine, grandchildren; Jason Riddle, Josh Riddle, Alex Hollifield and Amy Hollifield, Greatgrandchildren; Jason, Tiffany, Damon, Devon, Addison, Staci, Journey, Owen and Aleaha, sisters; Diane Hollifield of Spruce Pine, Betty Sue Upright of Spruce Pine, Geneva Hendricks of Hickory and a special sister and friend Mary Carpenter of Spruce Pine.
A time to support the family, share memories, and receive friends will be on Monday, February 15, 2021 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Chapel of Webb Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Monday, February 15, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Chapel of Webb Funeral Home with the Rev. Arthur Buchanan officiating. Interment will be in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
