Lucille Phillips Hunter, age 89, went home to be with her heavenly father on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at her home.
Lucille was born in Yancey County, N.C. and the wife, of her beloved husband, Claude Hunter, Jr, who passed away on May 4, 2007. Lucille was also preceded in death by two brothers: Lee and Rev. Frank Phillips and two sisters: Maxine Dellaghelfa and Lucy Robertson.
Lucille is survived by a sister, Laura Cooper (Roy) ; a son, Robert Hunter (Linda); daughters: Sheilah Hunter and Alma Ree Wood; grandchildren: Jamie Hunter (Jamie), Justin Hunter (Stephanie), Bradley Wood (Ashton) and Rebecca Wood; great-grandchildren: Kaedance Sue Fielbrandt (Jeff), Jay Hunter, Landon Hunter and Claude Wood.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 15, 2021 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Pastor Dustin Hughes will officiate.
A private burial will follow in the Hunter Cemetery on Coxes Creek.
