Gary Wayne Garden, age 68, of Buladean, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 22nd, 2021 unexpectedly at his home. A native of Mitchell County, he was a son of the late Bobby and Jackie Young Garden. Gary enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, gardening and cooking. He loved spending time with his family and his dogs.
Surviving is his loving wife of 24 years, Janice Putman Garden; sisters: Dianna Gouge and husband, Scotty, and Renee Johnson and husband, Dennis, all of Bakersville; special niece, Michelle Riddle and husband, Randy, of Burnsville and his dogs: Heidi and Rowdy. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 27th in Mine Creek Baptist Church. Rev. Chris Rathbone will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday in the Russell Putman Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Jerold Young, John Johnson, Hank Greene, Matthew Peterson, Scotty Gouge and Mark Peterson.
