Alan John Carroll, age 64, of Burnsville, passed away on Thursday, February 25th, 2021 at the CarePartners Solace Center in Asheville.
A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Herman Carroll. Alan retired from Coats America after 30 years. He enjoyed golfing and loved his family dearly.
Surviving is his wife of 24 years, Sharon Carroll of the home; his mother, Gaynelle Jones Carroll; daughters: Melanie Brady of Kingsport, TN, Jessica Carroll (Joseph) of Burnsville and Autumn McMahan (Cody) of Bakersville; son, John Moore of Kingsport, TN; grandchildren; Laiken, Payton and Paxton McKinney; brother, Anthony Jones of Spruce Pine; sister, Sylvia McMahan (Greg) of Burnsville; best friend, Melvin Choates of Burnsville and also his little dog Rocky. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 2nd in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Service. Rev. Roger Thompson will officiate. Private burial will follow in the Dull-Young Cemetery.
