On 25 February 2021 the Yancey Advancement Foundation, Inc. (a 501(c)(3) Community Development Nonprofit affiliated with the Yancey County Economic Development Commission) announced further investments made from its COVID-19 Relief Fund to support efforts to combat the pandemic in our community and to support the ongoing vaccination effort.
A supply of 2,000 masks purchased by the Yancey Advancement Foundation has been made available for local business owners on a first come first, first served basis through a partnership with the Yancey County Chamber of Commerce. Local businesses may request a supply of up to 200 masks per business while supplies last. In order to arrange pickup of the masks businesses who are interested in participating should call ahead to the Yancey County Chamber of Commerce at (828) 682-7413 to arrange a pickup time.
Yancey Advancement Foundation also announced an $11,400 grant to Mountain Community Health Partnership (MCHP) to fund vaccination freezers and other equipment for their clinic locations in Celo and Burnsville. This investment will aid MCHP in their efforts to enhance the local vaccination response in Yancey County, providing greater access to the vaccines for our local citizens.

With this most recent investment we support our local businesses directly in partnership with the Yancey County Chamber of Commerce and fund Mountain Community Health Partnership, a local community healthcare clinic, in their work, day in and day out to deal with this public health crisis head-on” said Yancey Advancement Foundation and Yancey EDC Director Jamie McMahan.
