Sally Laws Ray, 74, of Micaville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 25th, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Sally was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and working in her flower gardens. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
She was a faithful member of Bowditch Union Freewill Baptist Church and was an inspiration to her Church family.
Sally also enjoyed watching the birds especially the Cardinals.
A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Clair and Mary Edward Laws. She was also preceded in death by her husband: Phillip Leon Ray who passed away on March 4th, 2021.
Surviving is her daughter, Janie Martin (Anthony) of Alabama; son, Terry Jones (Roycene) of Green Mountain; step-daughters: Nancy Ray (Anthony) of Georgia and Glenda Ray of Burnsville; sister, Mattie Laws of Burnsville and brother, James Laws (Aileen) of Double Island, granddaughter; Kansas Henderson and grandsons; Cody Ray, Cy Woodby, Nathan, Dalton and Samuel Jones, Jacob Blun. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday March, 28th, 2021 in the Carroway Cemetery with the Rev. Ronnie Whitson and Rev. Tim Burleson officiating.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Hall, Randy Hall, Charles Fender, Jeremiah Laws , Bill Jones and Todd Hughes. Honorary pallbearers will be: Nathan Jones, Samuel Jones, Dalton Jones and Scott Jones
