James Dean Stiles, age 82, of Burnsville passed away after a long illness on Sunday, March 28th, 2021 at the Brian Center of Weaverville.
A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Utah and Lulu Bell Robinson Stiles. He was also preceded in death by a son, Jamie Stiles; daughter, Kristan Brooks; sister, Mary Thelma Layell and brothers: Max, Bruce and Ronald Lee Stiles.
James enjoyed traveling, fishing, Ford cars and trucks, always smiling and joking around. He was a devoted husband and loved his family dearly.
Surviving is his wife of 30 years Becky Stiles; daughter, Lynda Ose and husband, Wendell, of Virginia; son, Craig McDonald and wife, Tracey, of Burnsville; grandchildren: Lily, Isabel, Matt, Alison, Grady Dean and Grace; sister, Georgia Teasdale of North Carolina; “special daughter”, Kim Hensley Ricky and his dog, Bella. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
A celebration of life service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 1st in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Rev. John Anglin will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. prior to the services.
