Sustainable Gardening Workshop Series

Home and community gardeners in Yancey and surrounding counties are invited to attend a series of free educational programs on the second Saturday of the month from 1-2 pm starting April 10th, 2021. The first workshop in the Sustainable Gardening series will be Vegetable Gardening 101: Planning for a Summer Garden. Most workshops will be taught by Sara Runkel, Agriculture Agent for N.C. Cooperative Extension, Yancey County Center. A full schedule for the series includes:

The free programs will be held online due to COVID restrictions until groups are able to meet at the Library. Gardeners from Yancey and surrounding counties are encouraged to attend. Pre-registration at least one day before each workshop is required. Register by calling 828-682-6186 or by following the links provided. Once registered, participants will receive an e-mail with a link to the Zoom meeting for the program and instructions on how to connect. A computer, smartphone, or tablet with internet and speakers is necessary to participate.
