Dean Pitman

Dean Pitman, age 76, of Frontier Pine Lane in Spruce Pine, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Care Partners Solace Center in Asheville.

Born on October 20, 1944 in Caldwell County, he was the son of the late Avery and Willie McKinney Pitman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers; Wayne, Jerry, and Jimmy Pitman and a sister, Peggy.

Dean was a member of the Green Valley Baptist Church. He was the owner and operator of Dean’s Monitor and Repair for twenty-five years. He truly enjoyed working and took great pride in his work. He enjoyed gardening and fishing. He loved his family and was particularly fond of his grandchildren. He also loved reading his Bible.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Judy Goins Pitman of the home; his sons; Guy Pitman and wife, Linda of Spruce Pine and Marvin Pitman of Spruce Pine; his daughters; Shelly Buchanan and husband, Bradley of Spruce Pine and April Sparks and husband, Victor of Spruce Pine; his grandchildren; Scotty, Emily, Noah, James, and Caleb; his brother; Terry Pitman of Nebo and his sister; Maxine Burleson of Spruce Pine.

A memorial service will be on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy McGuire officiating.
