Ted Lee Cannon, age 79, of Jonesborough, TN, formerly of Yancey County, NC passed away on Saturday, April 17th, 2021 at his home.
He was the son of the late Charlie and Lula Bradford Cannon. He was also preceded in death by brothers: Fred, Ford, Stanley, Bill Cannon and sisters: Doris Edwards and Mary Stissel.
He worked for Tennessee Eastman as an Iron worker for many years until his retirement. Ted loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and trading antiques. He enjoyed playing the guitar and spending time with family, especially his children, grandchildren and great-grandchild.
Surviving are his sons: Alden Cannon of Green Mountain and Eric Cannon (Ruth) of Jacks Creek; sisters: Esther Williams and Daisy Higgins both of Burnsville; grandchildren; Mitchell Cannon (Lacey), Raven Cannon, Dalton Cannon, Adam Cannon, Caleb Cannon, Olivia Cannon and a great-grandchild; Brooks Cannon.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, April 21st in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Rev. Bobby Sprinkle and Adam Bradford will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the Bradford Cemetery on Piney Hill.
