Heath Dean Cook

Heath Dean Cook, age 27, closed his eyes for a final time here on Earth on April 20th, 2021.  Those same eyes were opened at the feet of Jesus as he exclaimed with a grin and arms spread wide, “I’m here”.

Anyone who knew him would know where to find him.  It may be on the backside of the ridge, casting a line off a boat in the lake or shaking in a tree stand, body trembling with excitement as the next “monster” came into view.

Along with his passion for the outdoors, Heath loved the Lord and was known for his outgoing personality. He was loved and known by everyone as (Heathy). He had never met a stranger, always had time for everyone and never failed to play with a child and make it feel special.

Above all else, his greatest love was for his children.  Still here to cherish his memory are his “girls”: Presley Hope Cook and Gabriella “Gabby” Grace Cook; mom, Teresa Cook; dad, Larry Cook; sisters:  Angel Camacho and husband, Isidro Camacho, Betty Sue Gomez and husband, Santiago Gomez and Isabelle Cook; nieces and nephews:  Adrian, Arabella, Hunter and Harper; grandmothers:  Irene Byrd, Betty Garland, and Annetta Cook; loving girlfriend, Chrissy McPeeters and her children:  Johnathon and Lexi.  Also left with their memories are an abundance of family and friends.  Heath was greeted in Heaven with the precious baby he never held.

Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 25th in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services.  Rev. Trent McKeehan and speaker Morris Phillips will officiate.  The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 p.m. prior to the funeral services at the funeral home.  Graveside Services will be held privately on Monday.

Pallbearers will be:  Jacob Edwards, Dale Garland, Patrick Byrd, Tyler Edwards, Dwayne Ayers, Austin Wilson and honorary pallbearer, Shannon Watts.
