A 27-year-old Yancey County man was killed in a tragic logging accident last week. On Tuesday, April 20th Heath Dean Cook was logging with a crew on Woody Road, off of Double Island Road. Reportedly Cook was injured in a freak accident when the limb that was being cut fell against another limb that then fell and hit Cook in the head fatally injuring him. Cook was airlifted from the scene. Funeral services were held Sunday in Burnsville.
