According to WLOS news a Yancey County juvenile is in custody, charged with first-degree murder. Yancey Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Shane Hilliard told News 13 the murder happened off Banks Creek Road last night. Very few details about the incident are known at this time. At this time, authorities are working to notify the family. More details as they become available.
