Local gas stations begin feeling the effects of last Friday’s cyber attack on Colonial Pipeline yesterday. The 5500 mile pipeline runs from Texas through North Carolina to New Jersey, supplying 45 % of all the fuel used on the east coast. The pipeline has some of the smaller lines between terminals and delivery points online again but the main line remains closed. In Yancey and Mitchell Counties as well as all around WNC motorist begin topping off their tanks, long lines formed, and no gas was available by Monday night.
