The North Carolina Department of Public Safety is holding hiring events today with the possibility of same-day job offers.
The hours are from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. at four western prison facilities, including Craggy Correctional Center in Asheville and the Avery-Mitchell Correctional Institution in Spruce Pine.
Other hiring events will take place at Burke CRV in Morganton and Alexander Correctional Institution in Taylorsville.
Those that are interested in working at Mountain View Correctional may interview at Avery-Mitchell Correctional.
Computers will be available for candidates to complete applications on-site, but NCDPS says candidates are strongly encouraged to complete applications online before attending. Positions at the facilities receive a North Carolina state benefits plan including medical insurance, paid vacation and sick leave, state retirement pension, 12 paid holidays and paid training.
