Sue Willis Buchanan

Sue Willis Buchanan, age 80, of Snow Creek Road in Bakersville, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born on November 19, 1940 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Wade and Pansy Grindstaff Willis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Buchanan who passed away in 2018. Also preceding her in death was a stepson, Curtis Buchanan.

Sue was a member of the Snow Hill Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother that loved spending time with her family.

She loved everyone, having company and visiting with family and friends.

She also enjoyed being outdoors and gardening.

Left to cherish her memories are her sons; David Buchanan and wife, Deanna of Bakersville and Larry Buchanan of Belton, MO; her brothers; Tommy Willis and wife Reva of Bakersville and Teddy Willis and wife, Ruth of Bakersville; her sister; Betty Norman of Bakersville; six grandchildren; including Mariah and Cameron Buchanan.

A time to support the family, share memories, and receive friends will be on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Snow Hill Baptist Church. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at 7:00 pm at Snow Hill Baptist Church with Allen Hoilman and Rev. Bruce Cannon officiating. Graveside service and interment will be on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 11:00 am in the Snow Hill Baptist Church Cemetery
