Mary Elizabeth McKee Johnson, age 81, of Crossnore, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 25th, 2021, at her home. A native of Orange County, NC, she was a daughter of the late William and Margaret Taylor McKee. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Marlin Johnson, who passed away April 26th, 2011, and a brother, William Allen McKee. Mary was a member of Crossnore First Baptist Church where she was Clerk for 10 years, Sunday School Teacher, and sang in the choir.
Surviving is her daughter, Darlene Johnson Gibbs and husband, Dean, of Crossnore; sons: Marlin Johnson and wife, Carolyn, of Keller, TX and Raborn Johnson and wife, Erica, of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren: Jay Gibbs, Tiffani Gibbs, Macy Johnson, Shaun Johnson, and Brian Johnson; and great- grandchildren: Taylor Grace Gibbs, Tessa Faith Gibbs and Tarah Hope Gibbs.
Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, June 28, 2021, in the Crossnore Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Lander Heafner will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Hospice and Home Care of the Blue Ridge or to the American Cancer Society.
