Burnsville Mayor Theresa Coletta will not seek a third term. Theresa Coletta is Burnsville’s first female mayor. Her eight years have been filled with accomplishments. Coletta’s biggest contribution for the people of Burnsville has been engaging the town firmly in water and sewer projects. For a community to grow and prosper, addressing water and sewer issues is critical for a town’s quality of life. As a lifelong Burnsville native, with ancestors dating back before Yancey was a county, Mayor Coletta has loved serving her home town. Mayor Coletta said, “I hope history will judge that I served well”.
