Doris D. Ledford, 97, of the Cane Creek Community, Bakersville, NC passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at her home.
She was the daughter of the late James and Pearl Pitman DeGroat. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ledford and her daughter, Lorraine Bailey, her son, Bob Ledford and three grandchildren.
Doris was a member of the Cane Creek Baptist Church and she loved gardening, housekeeping and preparing food for her family and neighbors. She will be missed in the community.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Calhoun and husband Allen of Morganton, NC and 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Saturday, July 17, 2021 in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home with Pastor Lonnie McClellan, Rev. Mark McKinney and Rev. Andy Willis officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in the Cane Creek Cemetery.
