Reverend “Pastor” Jackie Lee Silver

Reverend “Pastor” Jackie Lee Silver, 69, gloriously entered into his heavenly home on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, where he was welcomed by Jesus, his loving Savior, and all the loved ones who awaited him. Jackie had struggled recently with failing health, but leaned upon his unwavering faith and loving devotion to his  family and the Church to see him through his final days in this earthly body. He is now singing with the angels and praising our Lord Jesus Christ in the Heavenly home for which he so longed for.

Jackie came into this world on March 14, 1952, born to the late Dee & Geraldine Silver. He grew up on a one horse farm on Bearwallow Road in Burnsville, NC and lived there until his triumphant transition. Jackie’s early life served as a foundation for a strong love for God, Family, hard work and a willingness to help all in need. Jackie devoted his life to pastoring and bringing the gospel to all who would seek salvation. His heart’s desire was that everyone he knew would walk with him on the streets of gold.  Everyone that knew Jackie knew that, like Moses and Elijah, he was a “man of God”. He walked with God and did not compromise his convictions. He loved Christ.  He loved the Word of God. He loved the Church of our Lord Jesus.  He was kind and soft spoken, and always had time to answer a question or solve a problem, no matter how small. He was always willing to help anyone in need.

Jackie was blessed with a large family, which always remained close and cherished his  Sunday family gatherings around the dinner table.

He leaves behind his best friend and loving wife of 51 years, Linda Moss Silver, and four children: Daughters, Kim (Frankie) Goforth, Michelle (Howard) Arnold, Charlene (Matthew) DiCristino and son, Jason Silver. Jackie raised his children with love, patience, discipline, and humility. He taught them the importance of God and family. Cherished grandchildren he will be waiting for in heaven are: Zachary Markus DiCristino (Shayna Moore), Victoria Mariah DiCristino,  Jacqueline Cortney Arnold (Garrell Brinkley) and Seth Lynn Goforth (Layken Johnson).  Great Grandchildren he loved spending time with were Alice Rose Arrington, Dexter Atlas and Atreyu Orion Brinkley. Great Grandchildren he is now holding in his arms are Freya Rain Brinkley, Kynnedi Sage and Kynnley Rae Goforth. Jackie also shared a close bond with his sister Pat Jones and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Additional beloved members of Jackie’s family includes John Hendricks III and Lauren Robinson. Jackie’s heart and love was large enough to include not only his  familial relationships, but also his spiritual family and any who were blessed to know him.

He is now joyously reunited with his parents, as well as his brother Terry Silver in Heaven.

A receiving of friends and family will be held at New Beginning Baptist Church, where Jackie most recently pastored, on Indian Trail, Friday, July 23, 2021 6-8 pm.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 2pm. Jackie’s final resting place will be at Silver Holler Cemetery, 130 Dee Silver Ln, off Bearwallow Road, close to where he was born and created many cherished memories.

He will be sorely missed. We will cherish every memory of him. We will remember his Godly example. Above all we praise the God of grace who saved him; the Lord Jesus Christ who came into this world to bear our sins on Calvary; who rose from the dead that we too will one day rise from the grave; who went to Heaven to prepare a place for us; and who welcomed him there with the words “Well done, good and faithful servant!” Jackie, as in the words of the Apostle Paul has fought a good fight, run the race, and kept the faith. While we mourn his loss, we also celebrate his life and know we will see him one day in his eternal home, with God. As he said last Sunday in his final sermon, “Praise God, I made it by Grace!”

Memorial donations may be made to New Beginning Baptist Church at 532 Blue Branch Road, Burnsville, NC 28714.  To send online condolences, please visit our website at www.yanceyfuneralservice.com.
