William “Justin” Johnson, age 40, of the Frank Community, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 13th, 2021, at Cannon Memorial Hospital. A native of Avery County, he was the son of the late Jimmy and Brenda Brown Johnson. He was also preceded in death by twin grandchildren, Kynnedi and Kynnley Goforth, as well as a brother-in-law, Tony Penland.
Justin was a talented carpenter who could make anything by hand with wood. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was avid supporter of the Cloudland High School football team of Roan Mountain, TN. He was such a devoted fan of the Andy Griffith Show that he could quote all the episodes. He dearly loved his family and enjoyed making them laugh, and he lived life without any worries.
Surviving is his loving wife of 21 years, Carol Anne Johnson; children: Logan, Layken (Seth Goforth), Landon, Lilly Anna, and Lennon, all of the home; sisters: Traci Penland and Joni Shomaker (Josh) of Roan Mountain, TN; nieces: Haley Penland, Kara Penland, Carley Russell and Courtney Russell; and a nephew, Mason Clouser. Many cousins and friends also survive.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. on Tuesday, August 17th at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Graveside services will follow in the Cranberry Cemetery with the Rev. Cameron Dula officiating.
