Roby Michael Wilson, age 72, of the South Toe Community, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 24th, 2021 at his home. Born in McDowell County, he was a native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late John Robert and Ruby Young Wilson.
Roby was a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Asheville and Pine Ridge Southern Baptist Church of Kamiah, ID. His family was his world; his absolute joy was his granddaughters: Katherine and Gabby. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and doing anything outdoors.
Surviving is his loving wife of 50 years, Glenda Robinson Wilson; daughter, Christy Wilson Kinser (David) of Asheville; son, Michael R. Wilson (Makeda) of Busick; granddaughters: Katherine Elizabeth Wilson and Gabriela Ilia Wilson; honorary grandson, Cameron Avery Kinser; siblings: Loki Wilson (Jarvis) of Burnsville, Sue Forbes (Rev. Kenneth) of Busick, Randy Wilson of Kooskia, ID and sister-in-law, Regina Wilson of Busick.
Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, August 27th in the Gragg Cemetery. Rev. Scot Garland will officiate.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Trinity Baptist Church, Children of Israel Fund at 216 Shelburne Road, Asheville, NC 28806.
