Harold Dean Presnell, age 80, of Bakersville, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 31st, 2021. A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Claude and Myrtle Laws Presnell and husband of Willa Mae Willis Presnell. He was also preceded in death by sisters: Shirley Bumgarner and Melba Presnell; brother, Danny Presnell. He was a member of Snow Hill Baptist Church. Harold was a hard worker who took pride in everything he did, as he always said, “If it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right the first time”. He took great pride in working many hours building Hopewell Baptist Youth Center in Morganton. He was a Godly example to all who knew him.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Willa Mae are his daughters: Kim Zimmerman and husband, John, of Fayetteville and Jill Honeycutt and husband, Carroll, of Bakersville; son, Ricky Presnell of Burnsville; grandchildren: Rocky (Teashia), Christie (Jordan), Brittany (Matthew), Ricky, Jr. (Emilee), Kaysie (Casey), Lauren (Bobby), Emily (Casey) and Justin (Haley); great-grandchildren: Kamari, Ajay, Allie, Aries, Liam, Ricky III, Harley, Elena, Chase, Hadley, Addyson, Peyton, Camdyn, Elly Ray and Izzy; sister, Linda Morris and husband, Charles, of Bakersville and brothers: Larry Presnell and wife, Tammy, of Denver and Maurice Presnell and wife, Kim, of Marion and brother-in-law, Harold Willis and wife, Deborah, of Bakersville. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday, September 3rd at Snow Hill Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday at Snow Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Dean Honeycutt and Rev. Danny Emory officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
