Dean was the owner and operator of Bakersville Barber Shop then after selling he opened Country Clipper Barber Shop on Duck Branch. He was a member of the Spruce Pine Church of Christ and enjoyed building furniture, and restoring antique cars.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 53 years Nita Smith of the home, sons; Aaron Smith and wife Cari and Byron Smith and wife Adrian all of Bakersville, Grandchildren; Heather Youngblood, Emma Tustin, Hannah Smith, Titus Smith, Sarah Smith, Mark Smith, Lydia Smith, Luke Smith, Isaiah Smith, Joshua Smith, Ruth Smith and Drew Smith. He is also survived by his great grandchildren; Shirley and Daniel Youngblood and Raelynn Tustin, two brothers; Ray “Sonny” Smith and wife Judy and Edward Smith and wife Linda and two sisters; JoAnn Wright and Nancy Smith.
A time to support the family, share memories, and receive friends will be on Thursday October 14, 2021 in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home, funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Evangelist Micah Simpkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Smith Family Cemetery.
